Our Origins
Becton Prep was established in 1996 in East London, United Kingdom, with a clear purpose: to provide structured academic support in English, Mathematics, and Science for school-age students.
Operating in an area widely recognised for socio-economic challenges and educational underachievement, Becton developed a reputation for discipline, consistency, and results. At its peak, the organisation ran multiple Saturday schools, supporting hundreds of students in strengthening their academic foundations and building confidence in core subjects.
From the beginning, the focus was never simply on tutoring—it was on creating an environment where students could improve, think more clearly, and perform with greater confidence over time.
Our Experience
For nearly three decades, Becton has worked closely with students across a wide range of abilities, helping them:

As Becton Prep grows in Maryland, we are expanding our structured academic model to reflect the realities of today’s university and career landscape.
Students are no longer preparing only for exams. Many are preparing for a world shaped by computing, cloud platforms, automation, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, blockchain, and emerging digital systems.
Through a new Maryland-based partnership, Becton Prep is developing a specialist technology pathway for college-bound students and undergraduates. This pathway introduces students to Computer Technology, Computer Science, DevOps, Cloud Computing, Web3, Blockchain, and applied software delivery tools including GitLab, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Makefile, and AWS SDK.
This expansion remains true to Becton’s core philosophy:
